Skin Peels
Chemical peel treatments involve applying a specially formulated solution to the skin, promoting exfoliation and revealing a fresher, more radiant complexion beneath. Peels are a non-invasive treatment that can address a variety of skin concerns, making it a versatile option for many clients. Whether you're looking to treat acne prone skin, minimise fine lines, tackle stubborn breakouts or scarring, hyperpigmentation, or enhance your complexion, chemical peels penetrate through the skin cells and encourage skin renewal.
At Lose it With Laser, we offer peels to target various skin concerns such as acne, pigmentation, scarring, signs of ageing, dull skin, and can be tailored to suit all skin types and individual needs.
Different peel strengths and ingredients may be best suited to certain skin types and concerns, therefore a consultation is required to best determine which peels is suited to your needs.
Many peels require minimal downtime and may result in very mild skin shedding and flakiness, however some peels will result in no peeling or flaking at all.
-
Prepping skin: Skin is best prepared for a chemical peel by using Vitamin A, B and C for at least 2 - 4 weeks in the lead up to your treatment. This is to ensure that your skin barrier is strong and your healing time is reduced. However, Vitamin A should be stopped 4 days prior to your peel treatment.
Cold Sores: If you have any active cold sores, you should reschedule your peel treatment, and an antiviral is recommended if you are prone to coldsores.
Sun exposure: Avoid direct sun exposure a week prior to your treatment.
-
Post-treatment, your skin may feel sensitive and appear slightly red for 24 hours. We recommend:
Sun Protection: Apply a broad-spectrum sunscreen daily to as your your skin will be more sun sensitive and more prone to pigmentation in the weeks following your peel.
Gentle Skincare: Avoid harsh or active products for a few days.
Moisturizing: Keep your skin hydrated to aid recovery.
Activities: Avoid exercise for 24 hours, sauna, pool and direct sun exposure for 7 days.
Be Gentle: Some peels may cause the skin to flake, dryness, tightness or sensitivity. Do NOT rub the skin or pick at any flaking skin as this may cause scaring.
