Teeth whitening is one of our favourite treatments here at Lose It With Laser because the results are so immediate – customers always leave with an extra wide, extra bright smile after their visit.
Over the years, we’ve been asked a lot of questions about teeth whitening so we’ve put them into this blog post.
- How long does teeth whitening take?
One session of teeth whitening consists of 2 x 10 minute intervals of whitening time. We take before & after photos as well as part of your treatment so allow 25-30 minutes in total.
- I’ve got sensitive teeth – can I have teeth whitening?
There are 4 different gels to choose from according to your teeth sensitivity. There is sure to be one that is just right for you. The weakest we use is a hydrogen peroxide-free gel, and the others ranging from 10% all the way through to 35% hydrogen peroxide.
- What do I need to do after I’ve had my treatment?
For the 24 hours following your teeth whitening treatment, it’s best to stick to a ‘white diet’. This means avoiding the foods and drinks that are known to stain teeth. These include coffee, red wine, berries and curry. After that, you’re free to go back to your normal diet.
- What does teeth whitening cost?
The cost starts from $99 per session for the hydrogen peroxide-free gel to $179 per session for the strongest gel.
- If I’m pregnant or breastfeeding, can I get teeth whitening?
Teeth whitening is fine whilst breastfeeding but not recommended during pregnancy, so best to postpone until after delivery.
